HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY DELIVER A GOOD REPORT IN CLASS
- Write your report to be heard, not read. There is a difference. You'll see this once you begin to practice what you've written, as some sentences will sound too formal.
- Practice your report out loud.
- On the morning of your report, eat something but don't drink soda. Carbonated beverages will give you dry mouth.
- Dress appropriately, and in layers. You never know whether the room will be hot or cold. Either could give you the shakes, so prepare for both.
- Once you stand, take a moment to gather your thoughts or relax. Don't be afraid to give yourself a pause. Look through your paper for a moment. If your heart is beating hard, this will give it an opportunity to calm. If you do this right, it looks very professional.
- If you start to speak and your voice is shaky, take a pause. Clear your throat. Take a drink of water if it's available.
- Focus on someone in the back of the room. This has a calming effect on some speakers.
- Take the stage. Pretend you're a professional on TV. This gives confidence.
- Prepare an "I don't know" answer if people will be asking questions. Don't be afraid to say you don't know. You can say something like, "That is a great question. I'll look into that."
- Prepare a good ending line. Avoid an awkward moment at the end. Don't back away, mumbling "Well, I guess that's all."
Tips:
- Know your topic well.
- If possible, make a practice video and watch yourself to see how you sound.
- Don't pick the day of your report to experiment with a new style! It may give you an extra reason to feel nervous in front of a crowd.
- Walk up to your speaking location early, to give your nerves time to calm down.
- Keep a zinger line for the end.
What You Need
- Three days to practice
- A recording device
- Layered clothing
- A great report

E-commerce
E-commerce,
short for electronic commerce, is a business transaction that occurs over an
electronic network such as the Internet.
Anyone with access to a computer, an internet connection, and means to
pay for purchases goods or services can participate in e-commerce. (Ex. eBay)
Popular
uses of e-commerce by consumers include shopping, investing, and banking. Users
can purchase just about any product or service on the Web. Some examples
include flowers, books, computers, prescription drugs, music, movies, cars,
airline tickets, and concert tickets. Through online investing, individuals buy
and sell stocks or bonds without using a broker.
One
advantage of e-commerce compared to the traditional way of buy and sell is the
wider variety and quality products and services to choose from. Another is the
convenience, saving the customer the hassle of having to personally go to the
business shop to make transactions to buy products and avail services.
Sometimes it is just too impractical to go to the place, considering the distance.
In addition, e-commerce is operating 24 hours a day! People who can’t buy goods
during their office hours can simply sit at home whwnever they are free and
browse through the products to purchase.
e-finance
This include Online bill payments,
loans (business, housing, car, etc), insurance, educational plans, and other
forms of investments. Monthly wages are also deposited directly to the
employees’ atm accounts.
Entertainment
Have you missed any episode of your favorite
tv program? No worries! Just log on to the network’s website and you can watch
them online, anytime! What’s more? You can now watch movies, play games, and listen
to music online, and they can be downloaded too. E-radio is also there for you. News around the
world, either your favorite local or
international artist, you can stay updated with just a few clicks away!
Advertising
Advertising
is constantly advancing and it is the duty of the business owner to make out
these innovative marketing options to take complete advantage of their
potential. When a lot of companies are still catching up with the options which
exist with online advertising, established companies that are struggling to
locate customers can pursue innovative possibilities such as those seen with
social networks. These social networks assist you to create a fan base which
can prove very advantageous when raising consumer attraction, boosting sales,
and developing long term associations with your main client base.
With
better targeting, customer reaction links, and building brand awareness you
will be able to expand your business as you get advantage of all the means of
social networks. With the creation of a Facebook fan page you can start
effective interaction with customers and extend interactions that many online
patrons desire.
Banner ads with animation, photos or rotating text have been in use for
many years. Most Web browsers can see them. Over time, sizes
have changed, placement has been adjusted and creative tools have become
enhanced. These banners are effective if placed on pages with high traffic and
contextual relevance.
Propaganda
or development communication
Propaganda is a form
of communication that is aimed towards influencing the attitude of a community
toward some cause or position by presenting only one side of an argument.
Propaganda is usually repeated and dispersed over a wide variety of media in
order to create the chosen result in audience attitudes. As opposed to
impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense,
presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively
(thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses
loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the
information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward
the subject in the target audience to further a political, religious or
commercial agenda. Propaganda can be used as a form of ideological or commercial
warfare.

Let's assess WEBQUEST :)
1. Does it merely provide data or information?
No, it provides more than just data and information.
2. What does WebQuest also provide?
It also provides various resources for students and teachers, ranging from teaching materials and lesson plans, to student electronic portfolios! There are different activities that are created to encourage collaboration of learners and interactive lessons for different grade levels. It even give tips for better researching. Just imagine the list of Specialized Search Engines and Directories that are waiting to be clicked for convenience! I also like the WebQuest garden, the introductions of the activities really motivate the participants and the tasks that follow are quite fun and exciting. They focus on the learner to be in charge of the learning process that's why getting him engaged in the different activities is a sine qua non of it. These activities also develop (especially among children) the ability to work with others and be a responsible individual in the community.
3. Will Webquest suffice in case of local/ domestic problems/ questions such as the definition of "Filipino" among patriots of the 1896 Philippine revolution?
My answer is YES, since WebQuest has links of Search Engines and Directories.. so all we have to do is type the keyword (example: FILIPINO+ 1896 Philipine revolution) and viola! It saves time and effort.
4. Where can we get information for local/domestic problems/questions?
In addition to Webquest, we can also refer to local papers about current events like our local newspaper (which are also available online!) or go to the library Filipiniana Section and read more!
No, it provides more than just data and information.
